Our Programs
Research
The UCR-CoH CARE Partnership allows for comprehensive cancer research between both institutions. UCR Cancer Research specializes in basic research, while CoH specializes in clinical research. Additionally, this partnership allows for the development of joint research opportunities, education programs, and outreach that build capacity for translational research and drug development at UCR.
The UCR/CoHCCC CARE Partnership provides cancer research training and mentorship to a diverse group of basic biologists and translational/clinical research scientists at all levels. Our CARE Trainees include undergraduate students, postbaccalaureate students, graduate students, medical students, postdoctoral fellows, and early career faculty investigators. The CARE Partnership provides merit-based funding to our trainees for research projects and travel to scientific and professional meetings. The ultimate goal of the CARE education program is to foster the development of a diverse force of future leaders in cancer drug development.
There is often a gap in resources and knowledge on how research teams can ensure the translation of their findings from the basic science level (the “bench”) to the community and, also, from the community to the bench. So, our U54 Outreach Core aims to facilitate the successful translation, implementation, and dissemination of research findings developed by U54 investigators.
Our annual PSC (Program Steering Committee) Meeting to discuss our partnership's progress with External Advisory Board members and NIH program directors.
